The trailers keep on coming from San Diego Comic-Con! One of them is for Hellboy: The Crooked Man. During their panel last weekend, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, director Brian Taylor (Crank), Hellboy actor Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2), and his co-stars Jefferson White (Yellowstone) and Adeline Rudolph (Resident Evil) talked about this latest adaptation, which is fully in the horror camp.
The trailer lays to rest any questions about this film’s R-rating—it’s meant to be terrifying. In the clip, we see a demon in the shape of a raccoon go down the throat of some poor woman, whose body is then unsurprisingly morphed into horrific contortions. We also see a glimpse of the Crooked Man itself in corporeal form (and also as a giant serpent, obviously), and hints that Hellboy might actually be scared of this creature.
Here’s the synopsis of The Crooked Man, which Mignola said during the panel was his favorite Hellboy story:
The film comes to us from Ketchup Entertainment and is marketed as the first in a new Hellboy franchise. This first movie is set to premiere sometime in Fall 2024.
